At St. Catharine's we are committed to providing a safe environment for our children. Our Diocese requires specific background checks for all employees and volunteers. On this page you can find links to necessary clearances. You can also contact Marci Zambito, the Safe Environment Coordinator, for a volunteer packet or assistance with clearances.

Fill out this form and send it to Marci Zambito. See Contact tab for address. This form is needed to create a profile in the Diocesan database for clearances.
Complete a State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH) free of charge for volunteers.
Child Abuse Clearance is free for volunteers. Use the link above to find the directions needed for this clearance.

mzambito@scsreading.org for a payment code Read the Diocesan Sexual Abuse Policy, sign the acknowledgement form,
and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator. Read the Diocesan Code of Conduct, sign the acknowledgement form,
and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator. Read the Social Media and Electronic Communication Policy, sign the acknowledgement form,
and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator. Fill out the form and email to RA-PWNSOR@pa.gov OR send application to the Safe-Environment Coordinator. You will receive the clearance in the mail. A copy must be submitted to the Safe Environment coordinator.
Read the Child Protective Services Law, sign the acknowledgement form,
and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator. All volunteers age 18 and older are required to complete a Protecting God's Children class. The class is now offered online. Once you have your certificate of attendance, forward a copy to the Safe Environment
All volunteers age 18 or older must also complete on online training for Mandated Reporter. Mandated Reporter can be completed either individually online or at a class. Follow the link above to take the class online. Once completed, Print out your certificate and send a copy along with a signed copy of the Child protective Services Law Acknowledgement Form to the Safe Environment Coordinator.
All volunteers who will be driving youth (especially youth group drivers) must complete the Defensive Driving Curriculum on CMG Connect and will also need to fill out the Diocese of Allentown Driver Information Form.
